The butterfly shots are less than awesome, but I was happy to get something. I deleted at least 3 shots each for the butterflies and dragonfly and probably 6 or 7 for the spider. The huge black (crickets? grasshoppers?) were everywhere, as were the giant orb spiders. All pictures taken at Bluebonnet Swamp, Baton Rouge on August 9, 2009.

Bugs at Bluebonnet

New Work
These were made for the 2009 Breaking Traditions exhibit at the American Sewing Expo in Novi, Michigan. this year's theme is "Home," and the entry fee benefits "A Place to Bark." For more info on the show click on the logo in the right hand column. Both pieces measure 12 x 12 inches (and are actually square despite the wonky photos).
