Nesting and Resting

Tenacious violet Robin's nest in our pecan tree, about 8-9 feet off the ground. The long streamers are dead daylily leaves, pulled off and left for the lawnmower.
Waiting for the eggs to hatch. Hopefully, the cats will stay disinterested in birds. They seem to prefer bugs, lizards, and the occasional mouse. Blue Jays, Mockingbirds, cardinals, red-headed woodpeckers, and the little brown birds all eat out of the cat food dish on the back porch. The cats are only concerned with having someone fill it back up.

Oslo's new napping place. Note how her head is perfectly positioned for ear-rubbing.
