I've made 3 quilts recently, and none of them can be published on the web yet due to entry rules for various events. Two of them WILL be published in a book next spring! The book is tentatively titled Dare to Dance: An Artist's Interpretation of Joy, and the author is Mary Kerr.
Pleinweave, made several years ago from fabric I spray-dyed especially for this quilt, and very carefully cut and pieced to keep the original color flow. The pattern is a traditional basket lattice.
I made several smaller pieces from the leftover dyed fabrics, and more black, of course.
Update: Look for two of my quilts at the International Quilt Festival in Houston this fall in the "Tactile Architecture" and "In the American Tradition" exhibits! Big happy dance!
Second update: Look for a third quilt in the "Hands All Around" exhibit! Holy cow!

Vote for Me!

Vote at the above link for my scarf, Autumn Glory, pictured in the post directly below this one. this month's theme was Happy fall ya'll. Colorful leaves sunprinted in fall colors and overprinted in metallics are the epitome of autumn. This scarf also won a blue ribbon for miscellaneous handicraft at the Rapides Parish Fair.

Subversive Stitcher: Who me?
My two little quilts are featured on Dawn Goldsmith's Subversive Stitchers blog today.

Guess that confirms that I'm subversive (at least stitching-wise), right?

New Work
These were made for the 2009 Breaking Traditions exhibit at the American Sewing Expo in Novi, Michigan. this year's theme is "Home," and the entry fee benefits "A Place to Bark." For more info on the show click on the logo in the right hand column. Both pieces measure 12 x 12 inches (and are actually square despite the wonky photos). For the full story of Boris and Natasha, see this link:
