Swamp Maple, artistic interpretation of Swamp Red Maple, acer rubrum var. drummondi
42.5" square (30" square on point)
Cotton fabrics, silk and bamboo roving, textile medium.
Machine quilted, hand embellished and embroidered.
Leaves are individually cast from actual leaves

Beautiful piece of art! I like the way it looks like a window, and the sky is so subtle, just the right shade for autumn. I also feel an urge to make a quilt with autumn leaves every year :)))

Gorgeous! I love the 3D effect. I imagine that using silk really adds to it. I noticed that the sky is made from leaf blocks, but it's so subtle!

Maple tree speak strong. I know there was much work involved for looks simple and beautiful. The hand dyed fabrics are beautiful and the quilting is amazing.
