2013 year in Review

 It's been quite a year!
At the International Quilt Festival in November

Three silk banners were painted by the community for the cancer centers at Cabrini and Rapides Hospitals and Central Louisiana Arts and Healthcare.  I designed the banners, drew the designs with gutta resist, and supervised the painting sessions. (photos: Judy Ginsburgh)

The project culminated in an exhibit at the mall:

19 Rabbis, most newly-ordained, will be wearing custom hand dyed tallitot and kippot, and will be storing them in coordinating dyed pouches, all dyed by me. Mazel Tov! (photo of finished tallitot courtesy of Judy Ginsburgh; photos of Rabbis courtesy of Billy & Zev)

Over 50 additional dyed or painted scarves/shawls found new homes, as well as quite a few note cards, dyed fabrics and sewn bags.

Sky in Tactile Architecture 2013

More information on my piece in the Tactile Architecture exhibit can be found here.

Update:  The building is the service building at the rear of the oldTurpin Pontiac dealership on Murray St.  I happened on a photo by chance on another blog.  The windows have been covered since I took the photo 5 years ago.
